Did you know that the Texas State Capitol is taller than the United States Capitol in Washington D.C.?
A quick stop off at the Texas State Capitol was made on my last day in Austin, as it just one of those ‘must-do’ things in the city. I didn’t spend a lot of time there (maybe half an hour at most) but it was a decent amount of time to explore capitol building.
Once you’ve looked around the Capitol and observed the portraits of all the past Presidents (yes, Texas was independent at one stage!) and Governors of Texas, head out to the grounds and enjoy a stroll through the beautiful gardens – especially on a warm, sunny day.
