Looking for the best swimming spots on Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan? Here are my top three!
As the surf on Nusa Lembongan and Ceningan can often be quite rough and more suitable for surfers, finding a calm and safe swimming spot can be a potential challenge. Here are my top three beaches to hang out, relax and take a dip in on the islands.
First up we have Mangrove Beach, which is located on the north side of Nusa Lembongan. I’ve briefly written about Mangrove Beach before, as this is where you can swim 200 metres out to Mangrove Point for some incredible snorkelling.
Mangrove Beach itself is very calm and a great spot to spend the day if you want to laze around on the beach without being too far away from (in my opinion) some of the best food, with activity options at hand as well. As the water is quite calm and shallow, it’s a great spot for families with young kids!
Situated on the south-west side of Nusa Lembongan, Dream Beach is another great spot to spend your day soaking up the sun and going for a quick dip. The surf at Dream Beach can still be quite strong, so be sure to take precautions when entering the water.
Like most beaches on these islands, Dream Beach is a reef beach so just be careful of where you’re stepping as you venture out.
Secret Point Beach
Probably my favourite spot out of the three, Secret Point Beach on Nusa Ceningan is the smallest beach in size (when it comes to the stretch of sand). Access to Secret Point Beach is gained through Secret Point Beach Huts – you’ll need to walk through the bungalows towards the staircase closest to the beach, which will take you down to the sand.
For those looking for a little bit of an adrenaline kick, there is also a cliff jumping spot at Secret Point Beach. You can swim out to the jumping area and climb up the steps or walk around to the jump itself.
